The campsites at Assateague are pretty close together and a few flood during heavy rain. There are electric sites, but it was early in the season and I have solar, so I did not take advantage of that amenity. The hosts were helpful and the facilities are well maintained. For me the price makes this campground worth looking at. I have stayed more than once and I would stay again.

The big selling point is being so close to the beach and there is a lot to see and do around the National Seashore. Ocean City, Maryland is not far away, so there are ample shopping, dining and sight seeing opportunities within a short drive.

One word of caution… The Assateague Horses can be pretty aggressive. They will come into your campsite, eat your food and knock things over. They are a very nice feature, but be forwarned.
