I have stayed here a couple times and I really like the campground overall. The campsites are spacious and surrounded by forest. The facilities are slightly dated and pretty clean, but always feel like they need attention. The Forest Service outsourced management to a third party and the staff seems less than enthusiastic. I would still return, because it is in the middle of a spectacular mountain region.

The campground sits inside the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area and there is no shortage of things to do within a short drive. Hiking, climbing, paddling and fishing are all possible within minutes of the campground. A drive up Spruce Knob opens some amazing views of the surrounding mountains.
