Located on the Rough River Lake near McDaniels, Kentucky this campground was well maintained and the campsites were dispersed enough that I was not right on top of my neighbors. They do offer wifi, but you have to be near one of the transmitters to use it. My interaction with the volunteers was positive. They took time to answer questions.

I liked my campsite and I was right on the water, but the sound of boats during the day was a little disturbing. Otherwise the space was large enough and by sundown the boats were all docked for the evening.

The lake is picturesque, but if you are not there to fish there’s not much to do around the campground. It is also very close to neighborhoods and there are no hiking trails. It is a bit of a drive to go anywhere from here and McDaniels, Kentucky does not offer much in the way of shopping. I enjoyed my stay, but probably would not camp here again.
